Company description:

Flabbergast was founded in 2010 by Henry Maynard as a way to explore his fledgling skills in the art of puppetry. The result was a crossover cabaret featuring a clown/puppet duo called Boris & Sergey. They were a hit and Flabbergast produced six shows featuring these characters. It was the second highest rated production (out of around 3500) at the 2012 Edinburgh Festival Fringe, performed on 5 continents including for a Saudi sheikh in the Seychelles and in support of musical artist Plan B at Shakespeare's Globe, Southbank, London . In 2015, Henry created his own solo clown show, "Tatterdemalion", which toured with Boris & Sergey for several years. In early 2020, Henry invited several actors he had worked with to form a new ensemble. They shared their knowledge to foster a culture of sharing skills and developing company members by learning new skills from others. This is and has been an attempt to create an alternative to the culture of the actor working to order, one that supports complicity, encourages creative ownership and investment in our work.
